As a patient of the former Paramount Medical Group, you might have questions about our union with Summit Medical Group. We’re eager to answer your questions, address your concerns, and help streamline the changes you’ll experience as our two outstanding medical groups integrate to expand your access to the highest standard of health care.

Will I be able to continue seeing the doctors I’ve been seeing at Paramount Medical Group?
Yes! You may continue seeing your doctors just as you have before. You also will have access to all physicians, services, and locations at Summit Medical Group.

Will my doctors be moving to new offices/locations?
No. We are not moving everyone to Summit Medical Group’s Berkeley Heights campus.

Can I continue using the Paramount Patient Portal?
Yes! You can continue using the Paramount Patient Portal on the former Paramount Web site. The Web site will keep its Paramount Web address and your bookmarks will still work. As you’ve probably already noticed, the content has changed to reflect our Summit Medical Group identity.

As of October 1, 2011, these portal options will no longer be accessible:

• Previous and current billing statements
  Click here to pay your Summit Medical Group bills on line.
• Quick laboratory and imaging results
  To get results for urgent matters, please call your doctor’s office. He or she will receive your results in a timely manner.

Should I look for the Summit Medical Group logo or the Paramount logo on signs and letterheads?
The Summit Medical Group logo will replace the Paramount logo. Please look for this logo:
 

Will the contact information I’ve been using change?
No. All phone numbers and mailing addresses for your former Paramount doctors will remain the same.

Will I be able to email my doctor?
To email the doctor you’ve been seeing at Paramount Medical Group, click here to log into and register for the Patient Portal on the former Paramount Medical Group Web site.

Can I email doctors at Summit Medical Group who were not previously with Paramount Medical Group?
At this time, the majority of Summit Medical Group physicians do not provide email access to their patients; however, you may click here for a list of physicians at Summit Medical Group who you can email.

Will my insurance cover my care for my former Paramount Medical Group and new Summit Medical Group visits?
Summit Medical Group participates with most medical insurance plans.

Please note these exceptions if you are insured by:

• Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  Although at this time Summit Medical Group does not accept Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield, in-network coverage for Horizon patients who are under the care of a former Paramount physician will not be interrupted.
• Oxford Liberty
  Summit Medical Group does not participate with Oxford Liberty. If you have the Oxford Liberty plan, you can have out-of-network coverage. Please contact Oxford Liberty for more information.
• Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield or Anthem
  If you are treated at any of our Warren or Morristown locations and you have an Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield or Anthem plan, you will not be covered. These providers only extend coverage in New Jersey counties adjacent to New York City and New York state.

How will I get lab work?
Summit Medical Group provides phlebotomists in most Paramount offices or conveniently close by. We can now schedule your lab work from our office to shorten your wait time at the labs.

How will I get imaging/radiology services?
You may continue using the imaging office (Cranford Imaging or Westfield Imaging) if you’d like. You also can use the Summit Medical Group Imaging service at 1 Diamond Hill Road in Berkeley Heights. Because the Imaging/Radiology service at Summit Medical Group offers a comprehensive range of diagnostics, it’s likely you can have all your imaging tests at this single location. Ask your doctor about your best option for radiology/imaging services. He or she will help guide you to what will be most convenient.
